Ken VanElslander, MA, LLPC, CAASC

Ken VanElslander has been a practicing counselor in the State of Michigan since 2009, with specialization in Clinical practice in Mental Health and Chemical Dependence treatment. Ken has a Masters degree in Counseling from the University of Detroit Mercy with an emphasis in Addictions and is certified by the State of Michigan as an Advanced Addictions Drug Counselor.  Ken believes in a Humanistic, Holistic view of counseling which entails counseling sessions along with a non-pharmaceutical approach (i.e. yoga, massage, walking and meditation) to healing and wellness “for a better life”.
​Ken has enjoyed 36 years of marriage with his lovely wife Jan (a RN and Certified Yoga Instructor) and they have three adult children.
Ken began a career in Sales out of Central Michigan University and worked for the family business for 30 years before retiring from the office of the President in 2008. He joined the Board of Brighton Hospital in March of 2009 and became the Director of the Hospital now known as Brighton Center for Recovery in September of 2011.

Donna LaDu, LMT

 Donna is a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in a combination of Swedish Relaxation and Therapeutic massage that draws on effective techniques such as Deep Tissue massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Elder Massage, Shiatsu, Thai, Reflexology and Reiki.
Donna is a graduate of Irene’s Myomassology Institute and a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).  Her training in Myomassology supports her holistic view of a client’s health as a complex combination of physical and energetic systems.  This training enables Donna to use a variety of techniques to uniquely address and improve clients’ health and well-being.  Impacting lives in a positive way is her passion and reward.
Donna has worked previously as a Project Manager and Business Analyst in various settings.  She enjoys cooking, yarn crafts and making creative greeting cards.

Julia King, Certified Traditional Naturopath

Julia is a Certified Traditional Naturopath and received her formal training from the Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Eduction in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Julia specializes in Digestive Imbalances, Hormone Balancing, Immunity Issues, Allergy Correction, Women's Health Issues, and chronic conditions including Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, and High Cholesterol. Julia also assists clients with ongoing wellness and prevention.
Naturopathy is a unique approach to healing with the goal of harnessing the body's own ability to heal itself through the support of natural remedies or therapies that remove barriers to health. As a naturopath, Julia is concerned with the health of the whole person and programs are customized to the needs of each individual. During health consultations, Julia uses evaluation techniques including:

Face, Tongue, and Nail Analysis

Debra Smallman, LMT

Debra is a Certified Massage Therapist specializing in Swedish Relaxation Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage and Therapeutic Massage. She was professionally trained at Oakland Community College, and graduated with honors in 2001. She often works with clients who are in physical therapy, and uses massage to reduce associated stress and pain. Debra, a physically active person herself, is accustomed to athletes and their body aches and injuries. She enjoys giving sanctuary to clients looking to reduce physical and mental stress, and to rejuvenate them to maintain their busy lifestyles.

Christi Keaveny, LMT

Christi is the owner/operator of Great Lakes Therapeutic Massage and Wellness Center. She is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, and a Nationally Certified Medical Massage Therapist. Christi took over GLTM in 2010 and is working to create an integrated wellness center, merging several treatment methods and wellness resources to provide our community with access to the best therapeutic services available. 
Christi earned her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Ohio University in 2000. She enjoys using this resource to help people find the lost connection between their body and mind allowing them to heal themselves on a more complete level. She later graduated from SHI Integrative Medical Massage School in Lebanon, Ohio in 2004 and has been practicing full time since then.
She has advanced training in orthopedic massage and has completed an in depth training course in Oncology/Hospital Massage at Beaumont Hospital. The Massage styles she practices are; Therapeutic Massage  (chronic pain and injury recovery),  Deep Tissue, Hot Stone (seasonal) and Oncology massage (helping those with cancer in any stage of recovery). Christi loves to help her clients who are experiencing pain find fast, effective relief through therapeutic massage, stretching and stress management techniques.
